Your Village, Your Voice
The people of East Hagbourne have a unique opportunity to shape the future of their village. East Hagbourne is making a Neighbourhood Plan.
A Plan for East Hagbourne
The community will have its say and its plan will have influence over planning decisions and development.
Made by East Hagbourne
The Plan is being devised by residents of East Hagbourne. It will be based on consultation and discussion and subject to a parish referendum.
Over 50 residents attended the Survey Results meeting at Hagbourne Village Hall. It was very good turn out and a very interesting evening with an attentive and engaged audience.
Chair of the Steering Group, Crispin Topping, presented a top level overview of the Survey results. Then people had the opportunity to review the full results before a lively question and answer session. Crispin then led the group through the Plan’s draft Objectives. Finally Tom McCulloch of Community First Oxfordshire ran though the next steps for the Plan.
Completion of the Survey is an important milestone for the Plan. Thank you to everybody who has taken part.

Please come to a meeting where we’ll outline the key themes that have emerged from the Neighbourhood Plan Survey. Tuesday 25th October, 7.30pm, Hagbourne Village Hall
There are many interesting results, and some surprising ones too. Find out what the village said about Our Community, Housing, Traffic and Transport, Environment, Heritage and Character, Housing Need, and Youth Issues.
The Survey results will shape policies within the Neighbourhood Plan so this is a great opportunity to see how the Plan will develop.
The Steering Group has worked hard to collate feedback from the Policy Workshop event in May 2016. You can see what came up for each of the main Policy areas on the documents page (scroll down to ‘Policy Workshop Feedback’). There are some great ideas and plenty of issues to consider.
The information gained from the Workshop will be used as the Steering Group prepare a Village wide survey. Please watch this space for more information.
Well done to everybody that took part in the workshop and launch event at Hagbourne Hall on 6th May.
The meeting was attended by 70 residents. They heard an introduction by Steering Group Chair Crispin, then brief talks by Bill, David, Justine and Iain about each of the policy areas under review. Formalities done the group then spent an hour moving between tables set up for each policy area. There was much debate and discussion while residents completed forms outlining their thoughts. Finally the meeting ended with a 'wash-up' session where steering group members summarised the main points of discussion.
The steering group will now collate and analyse the residents input. And begin the process of drafting policies.
If you missed the event it is not too late to give your input. Please download this form for your policy ideas or pick up a hard copy in the Village Shop.
